The setup routines for the MySQL ODBC 5.3 ANSI Driver ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 126: The specified module could not be found. (C:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\Connector ODBC 5.3\myodbc5S.dll).

Cause

Some files are missing in the SysWOW64 folder.

Solution

Grab those files from a working copy of Windows and put them in the folder. Here is the list of files:

  • msvcp100.dll
  • msvcp100d.dll
  • msvcr100.dll
  • msvcr100_clr0400.dll
  • msvcr100d.dll
