Setup
- Download the [Echo VNC Installer]
- Run through the installer, selecting all the defaults, except the the "Run the EchoVNC Startup Wizard".
- Once the install has finished, run the Echo VNC Viewer. It should be on your desktop
- Click the Options button and then click the EchoServer tab
- Click the Add... button in the bottom left corner
- In the dialog that appears enter vnc.isoftdata.com for the "EchoServer IP or DNS:"
- Enter in your UserID and Password which should have been created for you by Brian
Using
- To connect to a customer's computer, they must first run the Instant VNC application to connect to the ISoft VNC server.
- If they don't have InstantVNC already, they will need to go to dl.isoftdata.com
- Then click the Instant VNC link at the top
- Before they connect, ask them what it their Login Name is. (by default its their computer name)
- Once they have connected, find their login name in the Echo VNC Viewer list.
- Double click it to open the VNC session which will allow you to control their machine.
- The name that displays in the title bar of the window is the actual Windows computer name and in parenthesis is the ip addresses for the machine
- The name that displays in the white box on the right is what they named it (see step 1).
Toolbar Buttons
Item A
Sends Ctrl+Alt+Del to the host
Item B
Toggles full screen mode on and off
Item C
Brings up the Connection Options dialog box. In this dialog you can do scale the view of their machine so you don't have to scroll.
Item D
Refreshes the screen
Item E
Sends 'Start' to host (Ctrl+Esc)
Item F
Allows for sending a custom key combination to the host
Item G
Brings up the status window.
Item H
Closes the connection
Item I
Hides the toolbar (can be toggled with Ctrl+Alt+F9)
Item J
Toggles the remote input and blank monitor
Item K
Open the file transfer dialog where you can transfer files between your machine and the remote machine.
Item L
Will let you select a single window to interact with rather then their entire desktop.
Item M
Shows the full desktop
Item N
Opens a chat with the remote user
Item O
Reboots the host machine
